The Stark County Educational Service Center and its 22 Affiliated Districts are members of two Business Advisory Councils. Co-chaired by the Chambers of Commerce of Canton and Western Stark County, members of these committees meet monthly to provide a more seamless connection between business and education.
Membership on the committees consists of local business leaders, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions in higher ed and K-12 schools. The goal of the committees is to provide mutual feedback. Schools are able to steer curriculum and courses of study to better match industry needs and address shortcomings. Businesses are also able to communicate to the schools where they envision future openings and what is on the horizon in terms of booming career fields.
