Artful Living and Learning

Artful Living and Learning is an arts integration program utilizing the arts to creatively teach Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards to preschoolers in and around Stark County. In the process, students also learn Ohio Fine Arts Standards as they are exposed to dance, drama, music, and visual arts.

Our twenty-minute lessons were developed by teaching artists and curriculum professionals throughout the seventeen years of our program's existence. All of our lessons are taught by degreed artists and art educators.

This year our 21 teaching artists are teaching approximately 500 individual arts integration classes weekly at 24 public school preschools and affiliated preschool sites. As a result, we are helping approximately 3,000 students improve their academic achievement, creativity, and school readiness.

In addition to our regular preschool arts integration programming, we also teach monthly intergenerational classes at six different sites around Stark County. The intergenerational classes are designed to be interactive, educational and fun, using movement, music, and acting to encourage interactions between the preschoolers and seniors from local senior living centers.

Our classes run from September 30, 2024-April 25, 2025.
