Stark County ESC is an approved testing location for the ParaProfessional Assessment
Passing the ParaProfessional Assessment qualifies an Educational Aide to be highly qualified with the ESEA endorsement.
With an Educational Aide Permit an individual can perform educational assistant duties in a school, including the supervision of students and assistance with instructional tasks. Many schools with Title I funding require their aides to be highly qualified with the ESEA endorsement.
In order to become ESEA endorsed, individuals must have successfully completed ONE of the following:
- The examination for ParaProfessionals prescribed by the State Board of Education (ParaPro).
- An associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study at an accredited institution of high education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours). If you have enough credits, you would need to upload your official transcript when applying for the aide permit through Ohio Department of Education.
$55 payment for the test (credit/debit card or PayPal - goes directly to ETS testing company when registering on the day of the test)
$10 to administer the test (cash, check or money order to Stark County ESC)
