Early Childhood professional development focuses on topics that enhanced programs and current projects, including the Stark County Cooperative Preschool Program serving children with special needs and from low income families, Parent Quality Council, the Even Start Family Literacy Program, Adult Basic Literacy Education, Parents As Teachers, the Quality Child Care Initiative, Head Start Plus, the Bethlehem Project, the Help Me Smile Project, and Title I. Many of these programs are supported by federal and state grants and by the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton.
With the goal of helping young children and their families grow and prosper, in-services target the following areas:
- Family literacy
- Parenting education
- The Ohio Early Childhood Content Standards
- Early childhood curricula -Parents As Teachers -High Scope
